The Humming Bird (THB) : So, Dee. How are you?
Dee Petrova (DP) : I’m fine, thank you!
THB: Any projects are you working on now?
DP: Nope, nothing right now.
THB: So you’re still working behind the camera and photo shoots?
DP: Yes, pretty much. That’s my job after all.
THB: The reason behind you resigning from your old position in couture darling is not clear to most of us, wanna telling me why?
DP: Well, let’s just say the girls and i had reached a spot when we started to disagree with each other’s post and complained about it a lot. we’re good though.
THB: Couture Darling has been off for 2 months now, any chances you know why?
DP: Honestly, i have no idea at all. the girls are just too busy i guess.
THB: How did you came up with Shiny Cocoa?
DP: Funny story, when i was coming up with names i was drinking a hot coco and i accidentally spilled some of it on the paper. and then i started thinking “hey, how about a coco? that’s good right?” but since i don’t want to copy the actual name coco, so i used the cocoa. The shiny part comes from my best friend Adrianna, she was like “wait how about a cocoa that sparkles?” it sounded weird at first, but then she and i reached a compromise with Shiny Cocoa. So Shiny Cocoa is well… A cocoa mix with glittter. (laughs)
THB: Unlike Couture Darling you run the blog alone am i right?
DP: Yes, i run the blog alone. including the themes fixing, so i’ve been a bit geeky lately.
THB: You’ve been off the fashion world for quite a while, i heard Nicole wants to hire you but you weren’t available?
DP: Yes, i wasn’t available at that time. I’m working this holiday, it’s not a project. just a couple photo shoots that needs my help. I was quite stuck with my new school and the whole adapting process is not as easy as i had imagined.
THB: So it’s not like you to work during holidays, why did you rake it?
DP: Well, a girl needs to make money. And since i’m not going anywhere so, i think taking a job wouldn’t hurt on a holiday.
THB: Let’s talk about your interest, shall we?
DP: Boys?
THB: Well, yes!
DP: No! (laughs)
THB: How about fashion then?
DP: That i would love to talk.
THB: So what’s your style for winter? Or well rainy days?
DP: I like to go from classique chic into bohemian chic. it’s more fun to do it during winter cause it suits my parka so much. well, i was caught up using a burberry trench coat today while enjoying coffee with Sharon. So, bohemian chic, and a classic a la french girl look.
THB: One of your fans asked me about your favorite fashion icon or muse, do you mind answering it?
DP: First, i love and respect Coco Chanel. I love her classy look. And second, it has to be the one and only Carrie Bradshaw. Although she’s fictional, i adore her fashion sense so much. Third, the classy lady Audrey Hepburn. I just love it, so tiffany-ish.
